Conway (Connie) Humphrey

Conway Humphrey (Connie), 85 of Rapidan, VA, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at the Culpeper Health Rehabilitation Center in Culpeper, VA.  Conway was born in Rapidan, VA, on April 23, 1937 to the late Ada Green Humphrey and Robert Humphrey.

 

Conway attended Life foot Elementary School of Orange, VA, and was a member of Hope Well Baptist Church Rapidan, VA, at an early age.  On June 2, 1957, he married Ernestine Frances Jackson of Culpeper, VA.

 

Conway, first job was working at Tinsley Mack Farm in Rapidan, VA.  His last job was at the Rock Quarry in Rapidan, VA, as a foreman before he retired.

 

In 2014 Conway move to Silver Spring, MD, until his health started to decline then return back home to Culpeper, VA, at the Culpeper Health Rehabilitation Center.

 

In addition to his parents, Conway was preceded in death by his wife Ernestine Frances Humphrey, his daughter Jane Wallace, two sisters: Essie Mae Green Davis and Idelia Humphrey Gilmore; six brothers: Sherman Green; Linwood Green (Uncle Buck); Eddie Humphrey, Robert Humphrey (Uncle Toad); Joseph Humphrey; Sidney Humphrey; also two Great Grandchildren: Malaha Humphrey and Antwan Humphrey.

 

Conway leaves to cherish his precious memories, his children: Harvey Humphrey of Charlottesville; Linda Ballard (Kent Sr.) of Glenn Dale, MD; Christine Humphrey and Conway Humphrey, Jr. (Lisa) of Culpeper, VA; Essie Mae King (Kerry) of Orange, VA, Janet Waters (Larry) of Culpeper, VA. One brother also survives him: Andrew Humphrey (Uncle Turk), (Aunt Mary) of Fredericksburg, VA.

 

Also cherishing Conway memory are his Twenty-six loving Grandchildren, Fifty-Seven Great-Grandchildren and Five Great-Great Grandchildren along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Acknowledgment

 

The family sincerity thanks everyone for there many acts of love and kindness shown during our father illness and the many expressions of sympathy given during our time of bereavement.  We thank you for your presence here today and for your thoughts and prayers.  Family and friends are invited to fellowship at Horizon Funeral Home dining hall immediately following interment.
