Ernestine Frances Humphrey (Tine), 81 of Culpeper, departed this life and entered into eternal rest on Monday September 28, 2020 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, VA. Ernestine was born in Culpeper, VA., on January 26, 1939 to the late Mae Jackson and Alfonson Lewis Campbell.

Ernestine attended Mitchell’s Grade School of Mitchells, VA. and was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church where she was baptized at an early age by Reverend Bradford of Richmond, VA. On June 2, 1957 she married Conway Humphrey of Orange, VA.

Ernestine worked as a Housekeeper and Caregiver for many years in her community of Rapidan, VA. Ernestine enjoyed spending her time at the Culpeper Senior Center where she met two very special friends; Virgil and Carl. Ernestine continued to be a faithful member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church until the time of her departure, having received the precious gift of the Holy Spirit.

In addition to her parents, Ernestine was preceded in death by her daughter Jane Wallace, three sisters; Julia Jackson, Helen Davis and Fay Jackson also two Great-Grandchildren; Malaha Humphrey and Antwan Humphrey.

Ernestine leaves to cherish her precious memories, her husband Conway Humphrey, her children; Leroy Chandler of Culpeper VA., David Jackson, Harvey Humphrey both of Charlottesville, VA., Linda Ballard (Kent) of Largo, MD., Christine Humphrey, Junior Humphrey (Lisa) both of Culpeper, VA., Essie King (Kerry) of Orange, VA., Janet Waters (Larry) of Jeffersonton, VA., Theresa Simms (Ronnie) of Fredericksburg, VA., and Donald Humphrey of Ruckersville VA. She is also survived by four brothers; Walter Lee Jackson (Annie Mae) of Orange, VA., Sylvester Jackson (Peggy) of Culpeper, VA., Lester Jackson (Evern) of Woodbridge, VA., Louis E Campbell (Regina) of Temple Hills, MD. and two sisters; Edna Dupree of Mitchellville, MD. and Diane Lewis (James) of Culpeper, VA. Also two very special cousins that were like sisters; Frances Washington of Mitchells, VA. and Florence Law of Chicago, IL.

Also cherishing Ernestine’s memory are her Twenty-six loving Grandchildren, Fifty Great-Grandchildren and Three Great-Great Grandchildren along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
