“My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.” Exodus 33:14 KJV
Our God called our beloved Gilbert Noakes III (Chip) home on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Culpeper Regional Hospital. He was born to the late Gilbert Noakes, Jr. and Joyce E. White Noakes on January 4, 1964 in Culpeper, Virginia.
Gilbert (or Chip as everyone knew him), attended school in Culpeper County and later obtained his GED. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Eggbornsville, VA in his early years and accepted Christ as his personal Savior later in life.
He was a hard worker who could do a little of everything. He was an entrepreneur; owning his own trucking (Noakes Trucking) and asphalt businesses.
Chip was a fun-loving man who loved his family and friends! He loved drag racing and was a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan, thanks to his grandmother, “Malee”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbert Noakes, Jr.; his paternal grandparents, Gilbert Sr. & Susie Noakes; paternal great grandparents, Silas and Judy Noakes; great-grandparents, Charles and Fanny Glasker; his maternal grandparents, Jack White & Lillian E. Williams White; great-Grandparents, James Clifford & Nancy B. Hackley Williams and paternal great-grandmother Caroline Gibson.
Gilbert (Chip) leaves to cherish his memory his beloved daughter, Carmon L. Noakes and son, Chad McGarry; his devoted mother, Joyce E. Noakes; one brother, Donald Noakes; two sisters, Juanita Roland (Kenny Sr.), and Vanessa Clark (Jesse). His 4 nephews: Ken Roland, Jr., Korey Roland, Daniel Williams and Donavan Noakes; one niece, Kennedi Roland, multiple aunts and uncles and cousins and a host of friends.
Chip will forever live on in our hearts.
