Harry Vernon Clark, Sr.

Harry Vernon Clark Sr., 76, of Culpeper, Virginia, passed away on March 15, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1949, in Culpeper, VA, to Mary Francis Williams and Sanford Clark Sr.

Harry was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his three children, Lisa Yates, Melanie Clark, and Harry Clark Jr. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Michaela Yates, Thomas Yates Jr., Jordan Yates, Christian Clark, Jaden Clark, Ariana Clark, and Marquis Clark, all of whom brought him immense joy.

He is also survived by his siblings Robert and his wife Peggy Clark, Diane Clark, Sheila Bowles, Denise Clark, Michelle Clark, and Michael Clark. He was preceded in death by his siblings James Clark, Donnie Clark, Sanford Clark Jr., and Julia Clark.

Harry proudly served his country after being drafted into the United States Army, where he spent two years stationed at Fort Bragg. Following his military service, he dedicated many years of hard work to his community, including positions with the government at Vint Hill Farms, Culpeper County Public Schools, and Walmart. He especially cherished his time at Walmart, where he formed lasting friendships with his coworkers. His children would often tease him that he only wanted to go grocery shopping there to visit his "fan club," a testament to the connections he made and the kindness he showed to everyone he met.

A passionate sports fan, Harry was a die-hard Washington Redskins supporter, but his love for sports didn't stop there. He also enjoyed cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the Virginia Cavaliers, and he never missed the excitement of WWF/WWE wrestling.

Above all, Harry's greatest love was his family. He adored his children and grandchildren, and his presence, laughter, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Harry Vernon Clark, Sr., will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Horizon Funeral Home - 750 Old Brandy Road, Culpeper, VA 22701.  Visitation for Family and Friends will take place from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.  The Celebration of Life Service will start at 12:00 PM.  Following the service the burial will take place in the Fairview Cemetery - 822 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.  There will be a repast immediately following the burial in the Horizon Dining Hall.
