James Wesley Phillips Jr., 65, known as “Bo” or “Junie”, of Amissville, Virginia, departed this life on March 18 th , 2023 for eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom he had accepted into his life.
He was born on April 8 th , 1957 to the late James Wesley and Shirley Lee Phillips. He attended school in Rappahannock County. He adored his family. He also loved fishing, gardening, hunting, playing the guitar, singing and making people laugh.
He was a loving soul to all that came into contact with him. Despite any pain he endured, Bo was a fighter. He always had a smile on his face that would light up a room and was loved by many.
Bo started working with Magee Construction when he was 20 years old in 1977. He continued working there for 25+ years. He then transitioned to Eastham Construction for another decade. Bo was a skilled carpenter and tradesman who assisted in building new construction, decks, barns, remodels and much more.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Corinda Ann Payne and Peggy Ann Phillips, his stepfather, Robert Lee Hughes and his step-nephew, JR Eastham.
He is survived by his 4 daughters: Alisha, Tiesha, Brianna and Jasmine Frazier and left a kiss on each of their hearts. Dawn Frazier, mother of his daughters. 7 grandchildren: Annabel, Conner, Noah, Lucas Stead, Zahriyah Miles, Mylah Moye and Laylah Moye Gorden. 3 sisters: Jamesly Susie Ward, Eleanora Gale Turner (Mike) and Margaret Lewis. 1 brother: George Phillips. 1 aunt: Pearl Groves. 6 stepsisters: Ann Hughes, Christine Roberts, Kelly Magee, Nikki Eastham (James), Jammie Mullins (Spud) and Allie Magee. 2 stepbrothers: Bobby Hughes and Harrison Hughes. Adopted parents: Bill and Monica Magee. His companion: Donna Beach. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A golden heart stopped beating... Hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us... He only takes the best!
Services will be held at Horizon Funeral Home located at 750 Old Brandy Road, Culpeper, Virginia 22701 on April 15th, 2023. Viewing to commence at 11 a.m. and funeral service at 12 p.m. followed by the Graveside service at Bethel Baptist in Amissville, Virginia.
