Who Was Margaret Marie Cave Jasper?  Margaret lived a long life. She endured to the end. No matter if she was tired, hurting, in pain, or losing most of her mobility to walk, she still had the strength to get out of bed each morning. Margaret would always get up at dawn, she would make her bed, and head to the kitchen to cook breakfast. She raised eight children during hard times, but a little bit was always enough. Sometimes a little bit can go far.

Margaret never expressed her pain, discomfort, or her fears too much. No one really knew what she was thinking. Her health was failing her, but she handled it well, despite her failing health. Strength and endurance got her a long way in life.  She raised all her children who grew up and ventured out on their own.

As she grew older, she became more frail, and pain consumed her, but she tried to do what she always did, and that was cooking as she tried to do things she had always done. In the latter part of her life, her eyesight was taken from her in one eye, but she still wanted to be active, and cook, do laundry, and wash dishes, but she was unable to. She wanted to do a little something, like peel potatoes, fold clothes, and help in the kitchen, but it was best that she didn’t. She was not able to stand on her own. Walking with a cane and using a walker did not hold her back. She had the strength to carry on until she could not.

She would read her Bible each morning. She would read verses out loud. She had a sense of humor. She could make anyone laugh. She held a lot of stories and emotions inside. As she aged, she started talking about her childhood and what it was like growing up. She desired and enjoyed a lot in her life, but her greatest joy was getting married, having, and raising children.
