Theresa Sue Dovell was born on October 5, 1958, in Warrenton, VA. After graduating from Fauquier High School in 1977 she married her late husband, Jimmy Dovell, Sr. in 1978. Once they started a family in 1981 she embraced motherhood and was a homemaker for 26 years. After the passing of her husband, Theresa drove a school bus for Fauquier County Public Schools for 8 years, transferring to Prince William County Public Schools for 7 years. She had tremendous pride in her job and was proud to serve her community keeping children safe to and from school.
Theresa’s warm presence and caring nature left an undeniable mark on all who knew her. Theresa dedicated the last years of her life helping and caring for her children and grandchildren. Her ability to provide comfort and love made her an exceptional care-giver, a role she embraced wholeheartedly. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality. Theresa’s love for her family was unparalleled, and she often expressed this through the time she spent with them, the care she provided, and the joy she found in life's simple pleasures.
Theresa leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Her laughter, her love of life, and her ability to make everyone feel cherished will be sorely missed but never forgotten.
Theresa is survived by her children, Michelle Dovell (David Cropp), of Bealeton, VA, Jimmy Dovell, Jr (Sarah Dovell) of Catlett, VA, and Elvis Dovell (Ryan Dovell), of Stafford, VA who were her pride and joy, her guiding light, and her most treasured accomplishments. She also leaves behind her loving grandchildren, Meisha, Kayleigh, Christina, William, Jimmy, and Rylee. Theresa's memory will be forever honored by her mother, Marian Buchanan, and sisters, Beverly Arnold (Kevin Arnold), Loraine Burns (Joe Burns), Melissa Lawhorne (Danny Lawhorne), along with many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her deeply and cherish every moment they spent in her nurturing embrace.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years, Jimmy Leo Dovell, Sr., father, Elbert Franzell, sisters, Deborah Franzell, and Edwina Lyn Fincham, nephews, Michael Franzell, and Johnathan Franzell.
As we say goodbye to Theresa Sue Dovell, we celebrate the life of a woman who was a beacon of kindness and love.
